L&T emerged as the lowest bidder for Delhi-Meerut RRTS package 3 contract

Delhi (Metro Rail News): Larsen & Toubro have won the Delhi-Meerut RRTS package 3 contract on 27^th February 2020 as they were the lowest bidder for constructing the 32 km Duhai (EPE) – Modi Nagar North – Shatabdi section of the 82.15 km Delhi-Meerut regional rapid transit system (RRTS) line, National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) opened the financial bids on 26th February 2020 for which they invited tender bids for Package 3’s civil construction in July 2019 with 2 sub-packages which were financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

NCRTC estimated the construction work of each lot to cost Rs. 860 crore and Rs. 1097 crore respectively. The second lot in comparison to first lot is the longer one and includes 2 stations at Partapur and Rithani which will also be a part of Meerut’s metro system.

Package 3 – Lot 1
DM/CN/COR-OF/058, LOT-P3L1: Construction of elevated viaduct from Duhai (EPE) to start of Modi Nagar North and 2 elevated stations viz. Murad Nagar & Modi Nagar South [excluding architectural finishing & pre-engineered steel roof structure of stations] of Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut RRTS Corridor.

Bid values submitted by each firm are as follows –

Package 3 – Lot 2
DM/CN/COR-OF/059, LOT-P3L2: Construction of elevated viaduct from start of Modi Nagar North Station to Shatabdi Nagar Station and 5 elevated stations viz. Modi Nagar North, Meerut South, Partapur, Rithani & Shatabdi Nagar [excluding architectural finishing & pre-engineered steel roof structure of stations] of Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut RRTS Corridor

Bid values submitted by each firm are as  follows –

If there are no issues, then the NCRTC will assign L&T as the contractor and award them with the line’s 3 & 4th major civil construction contracts.

The contract prior to this were awarded to APCO Infra – CRFG JV and KEC–CCECC JV for the 18 km ‘priority corridor’ section connecting Sahibabad – Ghaziabad – Guldhar – Duhai.
