Patna Metro is an operational metro system in Patna, run by Patna Metro Rail Corporation. It covers 6.2 km, with fares from ₹15 to ₹30 and trains operating 08:00 to 22:00 roughly every 20 minutes. Its route map, stations, fares and timings are below.
Patna Metro is the rapid transit system taking shape in the capital of Bihar. It is under construction, with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation carrying out the build, and it will give the city its first modern rail-based transit across two planned corridors.
The network
The project is planned as two corridors that cross the city and meet at an interchange, mixing elevated and underground sections. Together they will link major destinations such as the railway station, bus terminal and the growing residential and institutional areas on the outskirts. A priority stretch is being built first to open ahead of the full network.
Operator and what comes next
DMRC is executing the construction, with a dedicated state corporation set to operate the system once it opens. Current work covers civil construction, tunnelling and station building along the priority section. Contract awards, tunnelling milestones and station updates arrive as the project advances.
Patna Metro stations
Stations listed in order along each line, with interchanges where a station connects to another line, a railway station or a bus terminal. First section New ISBT to Bhoothnath (3 stations: New ISBT, Zero Mile, Bhoothnath) inaugurated 6 October 2025, public service from 7 October 2025. Extended from Bhoothnath to Malahi Pakri on 2 July 2026 (CM Samrat Choudhary); trains now stop at 4 stations (New ISBT, Zero Mile, Bhoothnath, Malahi Pakri) and run through Khemnichak without stopping until its works finish (expected Oct-Nov 2026 per Patna Press, 29 Jul 2026). Single track, ISBT to Malahi Pakri fare Rs 30. Phase 1 total: 2 lines, 24 stations (Patna Junction and Khemnichak shared), about 32.5 km; full completion targeted 2028. Full-route entries are planned/under construction, not open.
