Noida Metro

Operational Operator: Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) Length: 29.7 km Official site ↗

Noida Metro, run by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), operates the Aqua Line connecting Noida and Greater Noida – a fully elevated corridor serving the planned townships and institutional areas along the two cities’ spine. It runs parallel to, and interchanges with, the Delhi Metro’s Blue Line, extending the NCR’s rapid-transit reach into western Uttar Pradesh.

An extension of the Aqua Line toward the emerging Noida International Airport at Jewar and further into Greater Noida is planned, positioning the network for the region’s next phase of growth.

Why it matters

Noida is a case study in how a metro serves greenfield urban development rather than an established dense city – its ridership depends on the pace at which the planned sectors and institutions along the Aqua Line actually fill in. The proposed airport link makes it a bellwether for how NCR’s transit knits together its newest growth node.
