(Metro Rail News): Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project advanced as National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd. (NHSRCL) invited bids for the S-1 Package which includes design, installation and commissioning of the signaling and telecommunication (S&T) system on 18 January 2025.
The Mumbai – Ahmedabad High Speed rail corridor will be equipped with the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 signaling system. The Delhi-Meerut RRTS is the only project in India which features the ETCS signaling system so far.

Rolling Stock for Bullet Train Project
BEML was awarded a rolling stock in October 2024 to supply 2 prototype trains for the Bullet Train Project. These trains will be designed to run at maximum speed of 250 kmph.
As per the railway minister’s statement, the first section of Bullet train is expected to become operational by August 2026.
