NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): Texmaco Rail & Engineering, a leading Indian heavy engineering firm that makes railway freight wagons, coaches, locomotives and metro components, reported strong Q1 FY27 results on 3 August 2026.

Consolidated net profit rose 67% year-on-year to ₹50.04 crore, up from ₹29.99 crore in Q1 FY26. The gain came mainly from sharp cost cuts and better operating efficiency.

Operational revenue fell 16.9% to ₹756.68 crore (from ₹910.60 crore). Total income dropped 15.6% to ₹775.21 crore, even though other income rose to ₹18.53 crore.

Total expenses declined to ₹737.10 crore from ₹881.26 crore. This was primarily driven by raw material expenses falling to ₹555.27 crore from ₹760.76 crore. The Freight Car Division recorded a 28.37% fall in revenue to ₹522.12 crore down from ₹728.96 crore. Infra-Rail & Green Energy revenue dropped to ₹59.87 crore from ₹82.84 crore.

Both divisions’ wagon manufacturing and rail infrastructure experienced lower sales compared to last year.Despite the revenue dip, tighter cost control lifted profitability significantly.
