DELHI (Metro Rail News): Indian Railways has issued additional orders worth ₹3,925.41 crore to meet the demands of 9,638 wagons under its existing procurement contract, increasing the contracted quantity by 24.57%. The additional demand for wagons reflects the railway’s effort to strengthen freight transportation capacity and meet growing demand for bulk commodity movement.
According to The Economic Times, an official from the Ministry of Railways informed that the increase comes through a 30% option clause in the existing contracts.
