Mumbai (Metro Rail News): J Kumar Infraprojects (JKIL)’s TBM Disha has achieved a tunnel breakthrough at Airport Colony Station on Line 7a (Red Line) of Mumbai Metro within the package CA-48.

TBM Disha’s Drive for Mumbai Metro’s Red Line 

TBM Disha, designated as T62, is a dual-mode Terratec tunnel boring machine with a diameter of Ø6.68 meters. It was launched for the construction of the approximately 2.49-kilometre up-line tunnel from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport’s Terminal 2 towards the Airport Colony Station. The work was carried out within package CA-48. J Kumar Infraprojects bagged Package CA-48  at Rs. 1,998 crore from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in 2019.

 Mumbai Metro Line 7A

The 3.4-km-long Line 7A of Mumbai Metro serves as an extension to the Red Line 7 corridor that currently connects Dahisar East to Gundavali in Andheri East. 

This segment will comprise 2.5 km of underground track and 0.94 km of elevated track, featuring two strategically located stations: Airport Colony (elevated) and CSMIA Terminal 2 (underground).
