UPMRC Invites bids for Agra Metro’s Elevated Viaduct Work Worth over Rs 1500 Crores

LUCKNOW (Metro Rail News): UPMRC has invited bids for constructing the Main Line elevated viaduct from Agra Cantt metro station to Kalindi Vihar Metro station under the package AGCC-07. 

Scope Of Work

The scope of work for the contract includes: 

  1. Design and Construction of Main Line Elevated Viaduct from Agra Cantt. Metro Station to Kalindi Vihar Metro Station
  2. 2.61 Km Viaduct Connection from Sadar Bazar Metro Station to existing Corridor-1 Depot 
  3. 0.53 Km viaduct connecting Line 2’s Kalindi Vihar Depot 
  4. Civil, Associated Ancillary Structures, Architectural Finishes, Water Supply, Sanitary Installation, Drainage, External Development, Fire Fighting, Fire Detection, E&M works and PEB structures in Corridor-2 

Key Details: 

Significant details of the contract are as follows: 

  • Deadline: 24 months
  • Estimated Cost: Rs. 1529.29 crore
  • Pre-Bid Meeting: December 19 2023 at 3 PM
  • Bid Submission Deadline: January 18 2024 at 3 PM
  • Technical Bid Opening: January 19 2024 at 3 PM

Stations falling in AGCC-07 

Package AGCC-07 includes 14 elevated stations: Agra Cantt, Sadar Bazar, Pratap Pura, Collectorate, Agra College, Hariparvat Chauraha, Sanjay Place, M.G. Road, Sultanganj crossing, Kamla Nagar, Ram Bagh, Foundary Nagar, Agra Mandi & Kalindi Vihar. 

Source of Funds 

As per the tender document, UPMRC has acquired a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and intends to apply some loans to payments under this contract. 

Minimum Eligibility Criteria 

The minimum eligibility for the tenderers goes as:

(i) The tenderers will be qualified only if they have successfully completed or substantially completed  similar work(s) as a prime contractor/ member of JV, completion date (s) of which falling during last seven years ending last day of the month previous to the month of tender submission end date as given below: 

  1. At least one “similar work”  of the value of INR 1223.43 Crore or more.

OR 

At least Two “similar works,”  each of value INR 764.65 Crore or more value.

OR 

At least three “similar works,” each of value INR 611.72 Crore or more value.

  1. Liquidity: The tenderer must have liquidity of at least Rs. 109.24 Crores.

Longest Packages

It is one of the most extended packages in the history of metros in India, just below the Bangalore metro’s 15.01 Km Package: 03 

Agra Metro 

Corridor 01

The length of the Sikandra to Taj East Gate corridor is 14.00 km, which is partly elevated and partly underground and comprises 13 stations (6 elevated and seven underground).

Corridor 02

The length of the Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar corridor is 15.40 km, comprising 14 elevated stations.
