AGRA (Metro Rail News): Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) witnessed another progressive achievement along Corridor 2 of Agra Metro with the successful trial of its load bearing capacity. UPMRC conducted the preliminary Pre-RDSO oscillation testing that was done before the arrival of the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) to perform formal safety certification trials. The testing was done across the route from the depot’s entry ramp and the Sadar Bazaar metro station.
To assess the train’s passenger-carrying capacity and performance under load, sandbags were placed inside the coaches to simulate a load equivalent to 959 passengers. The train was then operated at a speed of 80 kmph while carrying this simulated passenger load.
The successful test on Agra Metro’s Corridor 2 demonstrated the train’s ability to maintain stability and perform efficiently while carrying a load equivalent to 959 passengers at a speed of 80 kmph. It also helped assess the impact of the loaded train on the tracks and supporting infrastructure. The successful completion of this preliminary Pre-RDSO oscillation test marks an important step towards the upcoming formal trials and safety assessments by RDSO.
