Patna RRTS is a proposed Regional Rapid Transit System that would connect Patna with four surrounding cities in all directions: Muzaffarpur to the north, Begusarai to the east, Arrah to the west and Gaya to the south. Trains are envisaged to run at up to 160 km/h.
The Bihar cabinet sanctioned ₹31.59 crore in July 2026 to prepare the Alternative Analysis Report and Detailed Project Reports for the four corridors, with the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), builder of the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat line, nominated to prepare them. Corridor lengths and alignments will be fixed once the reports are complete.
