The Delhi Metro Red Line (Line 1) is a 34.55 km corridor from Rithala in north-west Delhi to Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda) in Ghaziabad, with 29 stations. It was Delhi Metro's first line, opening in December 2002. Why it matters

The Red Line links north-west Delhi, Old Delhi and the trans-Yamuna area with Ghaziabad, carrying about 7 lakh passengers a day with interchanges at Kashmere Gate, Inderlok, Netaji Subhash Place and Welcome. The Rithala to Kundli extension will bring metro service to Rohini's outer sectors, Bawana and Narela, and make it the first Delhi Metro line to cross into both Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Its terminal at Shaheed Sthal also sits next to the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station.
