MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) achieved its highest-ever single day ridership of 3,58,115 passenger journeys on 23 June, 2026.The arrival of the Southwest Monsoon was a major factor behind the high ridership, as monsoon activity intensified across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This additional capacity will be operational beyond peak hours for safe and reliable travel experience during the monsoon season. Previously on 19th June, Mumbai metro recorded its peak ridership of 3,57,895.
Mumbai Metro is the second largest metro network in India. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh laid the foundation for the Mumbai Metro Rail Project in June 2006.
