PUNE(Metro Rail News): The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority has expedited its preparation to ensure readiness as the launch of Pune Metro Line 3 inches closer to become operational. Recently, the authority issued bids concerning the independent safety consultant services for carrying out safety audits for the train control system and signalling system of Puneri Metro.
The appointed consultant will perform various checks to ensure that all the concerned systems are reliable and function as per defined standard of safety for facilitating smooth passenger operations.

The Pune Metro Line 3 will originate from Hinjewadi Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park running entirely on a 23.3 km elevated section and concluding at Shivajinagar via Balewadi. The corridor will feature 23 stations. However, PMRDA plans to commence operations in phases. In the first phase, the operations will begin from Maan to Balewadi. The section had already received CMRS approval in July 2026.
