NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): The Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL), Additional MD Shri. B.Ajith Reddy conducted field inspections of the road widening works spanning 7.5 kilometres from Darulshifa to Chandrayangutta along the Metro Rail corridor in the Old City on Saturday, 29 August 2026.
Shri Ajith Reddy noted that 833 out of 888 affected properties along the route have been acquired. The remaining 55 properties incorporate heritage structures and ancient buildings. Shri. B.Ajith Reddy discussed with officials the measures being taken to expand the Metro Rail route along 55 properties.
Shri Ajith Reddy instructed the officials to accelerate the relocation of utilities such as power lines, poles, and water pipelines to ensure they do not obstruct the project. He urged officials to earnestly implement the Chief Minister’s directives to expedite the Old City Metro works and ensure enhanced transport convenience for local residents.
