Hyderabad: With the view to connect all the metro rail corridors to the airport in future, the Hyderabad Metro officials are soon going to invite tenders. According to report, the officials are going to float tenders for multi-level car parking (MLCP) facilities at Hyderabad Metro stations. The facility will come up at all the 42 places in the city and the tender will be floated within 15 days as per the minister K.T. Rama Rao.

On Wednesday, Minister K.T. Rama Rao took a ride on the Metro rail’s 16-km section from Ameerpet to LB Nagar during a trial run operation. This ride was taken ahead of the inauguration of the this line where Rama Rao along with transport minister P. Mahender took a ride on the Hyderabad metro stretch.

The ministers, who travelled on the stretch for the trial run, assured that the work on the stretch is going on well. Work on the stretch is going on at a swift pace and once the track is ready, the authorities will seek Chief Minister’s approval to inaugurate the corridor. This project is long awaited and authorities hoping the line will be open to public soon.

All the amenities on this line will be akin to those on Miyapur station. A joint meeting is expected to take place between railway official to discuss the project of linking metro with bus service and other transports. In the initial phase Hyderabad Metro will be linked to MGBS station and the Nampally railway station. In later phase government is looking to link Imliban and other bus stations to Metro Rail.

Rama Rao shared that the Ameerpet-LB Nagar has heritage precincts including MJ Market, Rang Mahal and Nampally station. He also said they have requested HMRL and L&T to develop the metro station as heritage precinct. This will help in spreading the cultural and historical heritage of Hyderabad among commuters.

The minister also informed that a detailed project report is being prepared for Metro Rail Phase-2 and for airport connectivity. The report is expected to be ready by July and August. In the first phase of airport metro will be from Gachibowli and the second phase from Falaknuma.
