Nagpur (Metro Rail News): Technical bids revealed that Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Technology Services Ltd. and Siemens Ltd. are the only bidders who have submitted bids for the telecommunication contract of the 43.8 km long Nagpur Metro Phase 2. The contract comes under the Package-TL-01.

Package TL-01 of Nagpur Metro Phase 2
In June 2024, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) or Maha-metro invited bids for the package- TL-01 with a deadline of 2.72 years.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will finance this package with a loan estimated to cost Rs.1678 crore.
Work scope
The scope of work for package TL-01 includes designing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning a telecommunication system for the Nagpur Metro Rail Project, Phase 2.
The bids will now undergo technical evaluation. Following this process, Maha Metro will reveal the financial bids of technically qualified bidders to identify the lowest bidder of this contract.

Nagpur Metro Phase 2
Nagpur Metro Phase 2 spans a 43.8 km long route. The project is under construction and estimated to be completed by 2026.
Phase 2 features 4 corridors:
Automotive Square to Kanhan – 13 km
MIHAN to Butibori MIDC ESR – 18.7 km
Prajapati Nagar to Transport Nagar – 5.5 km
Lokmanya Nagar to Hingna – 6.6 km
The estimated cost for Phase 2 is approximately ₹6,708 crore (around $800 million). The funding sources will be :
- Government of Maharashtra and Government of India (₹3,122 crore)
- Asian Development Bank (ADB) (approximately ₹2,058 crore)
- European Investment Bank (EIB) (under appraisal for around ₹1,527 crore)
