Gurugram (Metro Rail News): Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) Limited, the leading transport consultancy organization, announced on July 20, 2026 that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Metallurgical & Engineering Consultants (India) Limited (MECON) Limited, a PSU of Ministry of Steel, to collaborate on the consultancy and infrastructure opportunities across the Indian and International markets for exploring opportunities in Rail, Metro and other infrastructure projects. 

RITES has a proficiency in transport infrastructure and engineering consultancy while MECON is commendable in the metal, mining, energy and allied sector. As both the companies excel in their domain their collaboration is sought to bring the strengths of both for unlocking different opportunities across various industries.

Exploring Opportunities in Rail, Metro & other Infra Projects

The MoU emphasizes that both the organizations will partner for exploring consultancy assignments and infrastructure opportunities across various sectors including railways, metro rail, highways, expressways, airports, ports, ropeways, bridges, tunnels, urban transport, energy, water resources, hydropower, wastewater management, and industrial infrastructure.
