Hyderabad Metro | HMRL Preparation of detailed project report for Hyderabad metro phase II

New Delhi: While Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project – Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is a few years away, the Indian Railways is all geared up to introduce a couple of high-speed trains. These two kinds of trains “Train 18” and “Train 20” would replace Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains.

According to reports, these two world-class trains, which would be fastest in India when introduced, are being developed at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai and Indian Railways is planning to roll out two ‘Train 18’ by August this year.

While ‘Train 18’ would replace Shatabdi trains, ‘Train 20’ will take place of Rajdhani trains in a phase-wise manner. Train 20 is likely to be rolled out on tracks by 2020. during trial runs the two trains clocked 176 km per hour speed. Kochi Metro | KMRL to fix Thripunithura alignment issue soon

Following the current pace of work, it is likely that the 15.5km line to Whitefield will be completed by 2020. It is likely to have 13 stations on the stretch. GST reduction on metro construction materials can give some relief to Metro construction companies

With the rate of the Tax on Goods and Services (GST) on the construction of the metro and the monorail going down to 12 percent from 18 percent, EPC (engineering-procurement-construction) contractors in space would benefit provided their contracts they will be tendered taking into account the fiscal component. Essentially, if the EPC contractor had submitted an offer for the metro or monorail construction contract on the base price without taxes, then the decrease in the GST slab would prove to be an advantage for the company since the overall cost would decrease.

UP Govt. approves DPR for Agra, Kanpur and Meerut Metro project

Lucknow: The state cabinet approved detailed project reports (DPR) of the Metro rail route in Agra, Kanpur and Meerut on Wednesday. The Govt. also appointed Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) as the interim consultant to execute the preliminary construction work of the priority section, deposit, retaining walls, etc. of these projects and issue related tenders in anticipation of approval of the Center.

The Kanpur and Agra Metro projects will have two corridors each, while Meerut will have one corridor. All of these corridors expected to be completed by 2024.

The estimated cost of completion of the Agra Metro, Kanpur and Meerut projects, as approved by the state government, is Rs 13,936 crore, Rs 18,342 crore and Rs 14,890 crore respectively.
