49 crore.
The DMRC could save Rs.11 crore by adopting an economical and innovative design, said a press release by the agency.

The Edappally flyover is expected to halve traffic congestion at one of the busiest junctions in the State. The National Highway 47, NH 47 Bypass and NH 17 meet at the junction where traffic snarls were the norm.
The DMRC’s Pricipal Advisor E. Sreedharan has suggested the setting up of an underpass linking NH 47 Bypass and NH 17, to further reduce snarls at the junction where one of the biggest shopping malls in India was opened three years ago.The DMRC took up with the State government the need for a flyover here when Kochi metro rail works were sanctioned. A decision was thus taken to construct the metro viaduct over the flyover, since a flyover could not be built as a separate project.
The proposal was submitted to the Government of Kerala in March 2013 and the government sanctioned the work within two months. The land acquisition cost came to Rs.54.54 crore.
The project consists of a pair of two-lane flyovers on either side of metro piers, flanked by two-lane roads. Two new bridges too were built prior to the start of flyover works.
The total length of the flyover is 433 metres out of which the bridge structure makes up 283 metres. It has a central span of 35 metres with a vertical clearance of 5.5 metres.
The width will make it possible to construct an underpass in the future. Twenty-four piers with 90 piles support the flyover.
The foundation work for the flyover began in January 2015. The work was completed in August this year.

Delhi Metrino Project | Levitating driverless pods to connect Delhi, Manesar
According to sources, the Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari made a presentation to the Union Cabinet about this new mode of transport on Wednesday evening. The Cabinet members lauded the project, which is likely to decongest traffic on National Highway-8 (NH-8) that currently has the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.“The project will be executed and operated by a private player without any investment from the Union government. The minister, in his presentation, said a consultant would be entrusted with the job of preparing a detailed project report (DPR) within six months. The project cost is estimated to be around Rs 4,000 crore and is likely to be completed in two years from the date of award of contract,” said a government official.Gadkari had earlier indicated that the capital cost of the Metrino was Rs 50 crore for a kilometre in contrast to the Metro, which is Rs 350 crore. Besides, the project does not require land. The government plans to provide the central verge to build the pillars. The Metrino system would run on the pattern of a ropeway. It would come down at the station and would be powered on electricity. Each pod will accommodate up to five people. The pods are suspended from an overhead network that is around 5-10 m above ground. Each pod is capable of speeds up to 50 kmph.Under the project, fully automated and driverless pods will travel suspended under an overhead network. Sources added that once a passenger gets into the pod, he/she can select the destination using either a touch panel or voice commands. Rides can take place from any stop directly to the destination selected without a break in journey. Stops are offline like petrol stations along motorways, and hence, don’t obstruct the flow of traffic on guideways. The Metrino system has been tried out in countries like Poland.buy avapro generic andnewonlineblo.com/avapro.html over the counter

Sadakant, who held a meeting with officials of Varanasi Development Authority on Monday, said that the detailed project report (DPR) of metro rail was prepared by Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES), a government of India enterprise. The work on project will start immediately after the nod from the Centre, he said adding that the DPR has already been forwarded to the Central government for approval.JSPL to supply head-hardened rails for high-speed, metro projects

The plant is capable of producing 30,000 tonne of head hardened rail a month and it aims to substitute imports, which metro rail developers were forced to use till now.
“The declared metro rail projects itself give us a market of 0.5 million tonne over the next two-three years. With this new line of product, we expect that our rail business will yield ₹200 crore of revenues a month from this fiscal (2016-17) compared to ₹45 crore a month in the previous fiscal,” said Ravi Uppal, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd.
Uppal said that currently, the landed price of imported head hardened rails is around ₹75,000 per tonne, while normal rails which are imported costs ₹50-55,000 per tonne.
“We would aim to bring down this cost difference. Apart from getting head hardened rail at a cheaper price, buyers can also benefit from shorter delivery times and would also be able to order as much as they need rather than bulk orders which they need to place for imports,” he added.
JSPL expects its entire rail business to contribute ₹1,800-2,000 crore to its revenues during the 2016-17 fiscal which would be scaled up to over ₹3,300 crore over the next two-three years.
Already the company’s order book for normal rails is 3 lakh tonne, which will be delivered over the next few months.
Head hardened rails are typically used in metro rail projects and high speed freight corridors.
Head hardening technology entails a special heat treatment process which requires precise temperature control to achieve nearly 50 per cent higher hardness as compared to a normal rail.

According to NMRC officials, the State Transport Authority (STA) Uttar Pradesh government decided the maximum and minimum fares for city bus operation. “We have proposed the fare slab for the Noida-Greater Noida city bus service on the basis of the bus service being operated in Lucknow,” said Santos Yadav, Managing Director, NMRC.The fares have been decided depending on the kilometers travelled by the commuters. While the minimum fare for non-air-conditioned buses for travel between 0 to 3 kms has been proposed to be Rs 10, an air-conditioned bus would charge Rs 15. Similarly, while a non-air-conditioned bus could charge Rs 35 for travel beyond 20 kms, an air-conditioned bus is likely to charge Rs 45 for the same distance. Concessional passes could also be initiated for student travel. Once approved by the NMRC Board, the proposal will be sent to the STA for final clearance, officials said.Officials further said that a temporary bus depot is being readied at sector 88 in Noida, where the city buses will be parked. Operation, supervision and maintenance of the buses will be done by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). A Memorandum of Understanding with the UPSRTC is likely to be inked soon.
