CHENNAI (Metro Rail News): Chennai Metro Rail Limited signed the Contract Agreement to select a Consultant to prepare a Feasibility Study Report for introducing a Mass Rapid Transit System connecting Hosur with Bommasandra. The Contract Agreement was signed with JV of M/s Balaji Railroad Systems Private Limited and Habog Consultants Private Limited on 23.01.2024.
This proposed corridor is approximately 20 km. It will be an interstate project via Attibele, covering 8 km in Tamil Nadu and 12 km in Karnataka. Overall, the scope of work involves conducting various traffic surveys, updating the existing Travel Demand Model, forecasting the travel demand for 30 years at 5-year intervals and estimating ridership along the proposed corridor.
In the presence of Thiru. M.A. Siddique, I.A.S., Managing Director, CMRL and Thiru. T. Archunan, IRSE – Director (Projects) of CMRL, signed the Contract Agreement by Thiru. T. Livingstone Eliazer, Chief General Manager (PP&D), on behalf of CMRL, Thiru. John Rajkumar (Chief- Corporate Strategy & New Initiatives -M/s Balaji Railroad Systems Private Limited) & Thiru. KP. Gopakumar (Director/Chief Financial Officer- Habog Consultants Private Limited) on behalf of JV of M/s Balaji Railroad Systems Private Limited JV and Habog Consultants Private Limited. Thiru. D. Jebaselwin Gladson, GM (CM & CP), Thiru. R. Ranganathan, GM (Civil) and other officials from CMRL and consultants were present during the occasion.
