TWL and BHEL Consortium Sole fully Indian Contender for Rs 72000 Cr Vande Bharat Contract

KOLKATA (Metro Rail News): On Wednesday, Titagarh Wagons Ltd (TWL) announced that their partnership with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has made them the only fully Indian consortium among the five contenders for the Rs 72,000 crore Vande Bharat train contract. TWL, which is a significant engineering and wagon company, also revealed their plans to invest Rs 700 crore in capital expenditure over the next 4-5 years to enhance their production capacity and associated infrastructure.

According to Prithish Chowdhary, Director of Marketing and Business Development at TWL, the company, having formed a partnership with BHEL, is one of the five bidders for the Vande Bharat contract. He expressed optimism, noting that TWL and BHEL are the only truly Indian consortium since both partners are Indian companies.
