MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) has launched an e-ticket on WhatsApp facility on Thursday, 14th April. MMOPL operates metro service on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar route in the city.

The release stated that Mumbai Metro One is the first MRTS (Mass Rapid Transit System) in the world to offer e-tickets on WhatsApp.
This was an extension of “Paper QR Ticket” which is currently available via ticket counters, the release said. To use the e-ticket facility, passengers will have to send the message `Hi’ to 9670008889.

Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar is the first metro route in Mumbai which is operational since 2014. It has a daily ridership of 2,60,000. MMOPL also stated that it has adopted many technological innovations like bank combo cards, mobile QR tickets and loyalty programs.
