HYDERABAD (METRO RAIL NEWS): Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) NVS Reddy and Cyberabad Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar flagged off dedicated shuttle bus services of Microsoft from Hitec City Metro station to Microsoft campus in the presence of Microsoft VP Rajiv Kumar and L&TMRHL MD KVB Reddy.

Already 20 IT/ITES companies have introduced shuttle services from Hitec City and Durgam Cheruvu stations to their respective campuses and they include Value Labs, Epam, Invesco, Verizon, Cambridge, ICICI Bank, Novartis, Hexagon, etc. He mentioned that L&TMRHL is also running “merry-go-round” services from Durgam Cheruvu and Hitec City Metro stations in Gachibowli and Financial District areas and that these shuttle services have become extremely popular stated HMRL MD NVS Reddy.

He also said that the last mile connectivity was slowly improving and the Metro ridership was steadily going up with about 2.50 lakh passengers using Metro Rail services in a day.

Microsoft vice-president, Rajiv Kumar said that introduction of shuttle services from campuses to Metro stations will benefit the employees and also reduce traffic congestion in the area. Appreciating the initiative taken by L&TMRHL and the pro-active policies of HMRL, Cyberabad CP Sajjanar made an appeal to other companies also to run similar shuttle services to reduce traffic congestion in Cyberabad area.
