NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): Shri Satish Kumar took over the charge of Member (Traction & Rolling Stock) in the Railway Board in the Ministry of Railways on 5 January 2024. He is from the 1986 batch of Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers. Shri Kumar joined Indian Railways in March 1988 and has 34 years of experience. Before joining MTRS Railway Board, he worked as General Manager, North Central Railway, Prayagraj.
Earlier, Shri Kumar worked in various capacities in the Jhansi Division and BLW (Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi), NER, Gorakhpur, and Patiala Locomotive Works. He was trained in Total Quality Management under the UNDP programme in 1996 and has handled many projects.
He also worked as Divisional Railway Manager, Lucknow Division of Northern Railway from April 2017 to April 2019. Many infrastructural works were accomplished during his tenure as DRM, Lucknow.
