Scope of Work

Package UG05-RT-01 encompasses the construction of three underground stations at Adyar Depot, Indira Nagar, and Taramani Road Junction (Taramani), along with a ramp.

The package includes all works, excluding the diaphragm wall for one underground station at Thiruvanmiyur Metro in Corridor-3 of the CMRL Phase-II Project.

Technological Advancements

Sam India deployed a Schwing-XCMG trench cutter machine to kickstart the construction process, exemplifying the integration of advanced technology in metro construction.

The SCHWING – XCMG collaboration brings robust machines like Wheel Loaders, Rotary Drilling Piling Rigs, and Aerial Working Platforms for tough construction sites.

This machine will facilitate grabbing and trenching works to construct the diaphragm wall (D-wall) around Indira Nagar Station, laying the groundwork for future progress.

Milestones in Chennai Metro Phase 2

The commencement of underground work at Indira Nagar Station represents a crucial achievement in the broader context of Chennai Metro Phase 2. With Larsen & Toubro already engaged in tunnelling work since February 2023, the project is steadily progressing towards its targeted completion, promising enhanced urban mobility for Chennai residents.
