Delhi Metro Magenta Line

Operational Operator: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Length: 50.18 km Since: 25/12/2017 Updated: Official site ↗

As of 17 Oct 2026, Delhi Metro Magenta Line is operational (since 25 Dec 2017). Latest news: 29 Sep 2026.

The Delhi Metro Magenta Line (Line 8) runs from Botanical Garden to Krishna Park Extension, and separately from Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park: about 50 km and 33 stations as of October 2026. The Krishna Park Extension section opened in January 2025 and Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park in March 2026. DMRC targets end-2026 for the gap via Peeragarhi. Fares are ₹11 to ₹64.

Why it matters

The Magenta Line was India's first driverless metro line and links Noida with south Delhi and IGI Airport Terminal 1 without passing through central Delhi. Its Phase 4 extension turns it into a north-south arc through west and north Delhi, adding interchanges at Peeragarhi, Madhuban Chowk, Haiderpur Badli Mor, Majlis Park, Azadpur and Pulbangash. Once it reaches RK Ashram Marg and then Indraprastha through the Central Vista, it will connect outer residential areas directly with the government district.
