NCRTC Inducts High-Speed Catenary Maintenance Vehicle for Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor

0

National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has inducted a high-speed Catenary Maintenance Vehicle (CMV) to strengthen OHE maintenance across the 82-km Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut corridor.

Indigenously built and designed for 120 kmph, the CMV enables rapid movement of maintenance teams, ensuring quicker inspection, faster rectification, and improved uptime of the overhead power system.

Indian Railways Prepares DPR of 164km Rail Link to Boost Connectivity in Kashmir Valley

0

Following the successful commissioning of the 272-km Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) Indian Railways is now focused on further enhancing rail connectivity within the Kashmir Valley. The Ministry of Railways has prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new 164 km railway line which aims at connecting more parts of the Union Territory to the national rail network.

The proposed projects are :

  • Baramulla-Uri new line (46 Km)
  • Banihal – Baramulla doubling (118 Km)

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated in the Rajya Sabha on December 5 that “To further extend the rail connectivity in Kashmir region, survey of Baramulla-Uri new line (46 Km) and Banihal – Baramulla doubling (118 Km) has been completed and Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared”.

The national transporter has completed the survey and prepared the DPR to enhance and expand rail connectivity in the Kashmir region. The project’s approval now requires consultations with various stakeholders, including state governments.

After the preparation of the DPR, project sanctioning involves consultations with multiple stakeholders, including State Governments, and obtaining necessary approvals such as appraisal by NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Finance. Since project sanctioning is an ongoing and dynamic process, the exact timelines vary depending on the reviews and approvals from these stakeholders.
