PUNE (Metro Rail News): Maha Metro has awarded the Design Consultancy Contract for Pune Metro Purple Line’s 4.519 Km PCMC-Nigdi extension to LKT Engineering.
Contract
The contract has been valued at Rs 1.11 crore and was awarded on December 29, 2023.
Bids Invited
In September 2023, MahaMetro issued bids for its Design Development and Consultancy (DDC) service under Package DDC-01. The project entails the generation and submission of alternative designs for all aspects of civil, architectural, building services, electrical, and mechanical works.
Scope of the Contract
The scope of the contract entails Detailed Design Consultancy services for 3 (three) elevated stations viz. Chinchwad, Akurdi, and Nigdi, excluding the viaduct in station portions on the PCMC to Nigdi corridor of the Pune Metro Rail Project.
The 3 Bidders
The bidders for the package have been:
- Nippon Koei – BDP Design Engineering JV
- LKT Engineering
- Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats
The bidding value remains unknown.
Pune Metro Phase 1 Extension
The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs had already approved the 4.413 Km extension of the Pune metro’s Purple line at an estimated cost of Rs 910.18 Crore. The proposed extension includes the construction of elevated stations at Chinchwad, Akurdi & Nigdi. The DPR was approved by the Maharashtra Government in February 2021 & received PIB sanction in September 2023.
The proposed expansion will add a length of 4.413 Km to the Pune metro, which already exists at 54.14 Km, divided into three lines, of which 27.15 Km length is operational as of now.
