ಮುಂಬೈ (ಮೆಟ್ರೋ ರೈಲು ಸುದ್ದಿ): ಕೆಲವು ವರದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಂಬುವುದಾದರೆ, ಮುಂಬೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ರೈಲುಗಳು ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 1 ರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಬಹುದು. ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2020 ರಲ್ಲಿ, 46 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ, ಮುಂಬೈನ ಜೀವನಾಡಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾದ ಭಾರತೀಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಜಾಲವನ್ನು ಕರೋನವೈರಸ್ ಹರಡುವುದನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಲು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗಾಗಿ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ, ಜೂನ್ 14 ರಿಂದ ಮುಂಬೈ ಮೆಟ್ರೋಪಾಲಿಟನ್ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀಮಿತ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಉಪನಗರ ರೈಲುಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ, ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸೇವೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ಮಾತ್ರ ಈ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಬಹುದು.
ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿರುವ 125,000 ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದೆ. ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಪೂರ್ವ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಬೈ, ಥಾಣೆ, ಪಾಲ್ಘರ್ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಯಗಢದ ಉಪನಗರ ಜಾಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಸರಾಸರಿ 85 ಲಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
ಗಣೇಶ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪ ನಗರ ರೈಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸುವ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ರೈಲು ಜಾಲವನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತೆರೆಯುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ. ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹದಗೆಡದಂತೆ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಈ ಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಣಾತ್ಮಕ ಗುರಾಣಿಯಾಗಿ ನೋಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
