
MADHYA PRADESH (Metro Rail News): Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the gauge-converted Kailaras-Sabalgarh-Birpur rail section in Madhya Pradesh through video conferencing. He also flagged off the extension of the Gwalior-Kailaras train up to Birpur. Union Minister Shri.Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri.Mohan Yadav joined the event.
Shri. Ashwini Vaishnaw described the opening of the 56-km Kailaras-Birpur section as an important milestone for the Gwalior-Chambal area. He said the project became possible through the joint efforts of everyone involved. More than 100 villages in Bamor, Joura, Kailaras and Sabalgarh tehsils of Morena district, and Birpur, Sheopur and Karahal tehsils of Sheopur district will now enjoy better rail access. He further shared that the line will later extend to Sheopur Kalan and eventually to Kota. This will link the region with major educational and industrial centres. Work on the next stretches from Birpur to Seroni Road and from Seroni Road to Sheopur Kalan is nearly finished.
For railway development in Madhya Pradesh, eighty stations are being redeveloped, five Vande Bharat trains are running, and seven Amrit Bharat trains have been introduced. New projects such as the Indore-Manmad line will further improve links between the Gwalior-Chambal region and Malwa.
Chief Minister Shri Mohan Yadav said the improved rail connectivity will support a new industrial belt and boost tourism and other economic activities. He pointed to the region’s potential in battery energy storage, footwear, hydrogen manufacturing and tourism, noting that better train services will help these sectors grow.
