Importance of Kavach
Kavach is an indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system. It is developed in India to enhance railway safety. The system can prevent Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD), apply brakes automatically when needed and can control train speed in critical situations. It also reduces the risk of train collisions. Indian Railways is expanding Kavach throughout its network to make train travel safer, more reliable, and capable of handling heavy traffic on important routes.
