Balaji Railroad Systems to Prepare DFR for 3 Proposed RRTS Routes in Tamil Nadu

TAMIL NADU (Metro Rail News): Chennai Metro Rail Limited ( CMRL) has awarded Balaji Railroad Systems (BARSYL) 3 major contracts for preparing detailed feasibility reports (DFRs) for 3 different routes of new Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) lines proposed in Tamil Nadu. 

In April, CMRL issued bids for this contract with a 180 completion deadline. On 16 May, Technical bids were opened for the contract. Furthermore, financial bids were opened on June 20 revaling that BARSYL is the lowest bidder fort he contract. 

The contracts for new semi-high-speed rail lines in Tamil Nadu have proposed 3 different routes. The routes have been mentioned below: 

(1) Chennai – Kanchipuram – Vellore
