CHENNAI (Metro Rail News): CMRL is presently implementing the construction of the Underground Metro Rail section in Corridor 4, Phase 2 project from Light House Station at Marina Beach to Kodambakkam Flyover.
The 1st Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), named “Flamingo”, was launched on 1st September 2023, and it is presently tunnelling in the Down Line of Corridor 4 from Light House Station to Boat Club Station. Its counterpart TBM, named “Eagle”, has been successfully launched in the Upline from Light House Station towards Thirumayilai and is expected to arrive at Boat Club Station in October 2026.
