Reasons behind 20% increase in daily ridership
As per the press released by Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), the authorities of Noida Metro pointed towards the following methods that led to more registration in passenger numbers:
- Introduction of QR-code based issuance of ride tickets
- Making travels more accessible through National Common Mobility Card (NCMC)
- Easy interchange option available through Foot Overbridge (FOB) connecting the Sector 51 and Sector 52 metro stations that inaugurated officially on October 4th
The 20% increase in daily ridership than before is a reflection of the above stated initiatives among several others.

Future steps for improving passenger journey
Witnessing the constant rise in people turning to Noida Metro Aqua Line, NCMC is progressing towards implementing the following initiatives to benefit the users of the services:
Increase in train frequency: From November 1st, 2026, the peak hours would see fast train services, with the arrival time of trains reducing to 6 minutes 35 seconds from the earlier routine of 7 minutes 30 seconds.
Extension in late-night services: The last train from Sector 51 towards Depot Station would depart at 11:25 pm. Currently, the proposal is undergoing negotiations and final approvals.
Improving last-mile connectivity: NCMC, in collaboration with Larsen & Turbo (L&T), is planning for the extension routes at 2.6 km long Depot-Boraki corridor and 11.56 km stretch Botanical Garden-Sector 142 corridor. A third corridor of 8.4 km stretch from Sector 51 to Greater Noida West Sector 4 is also in consideration. Once the Union Cabinet approves it, the services might soon be available to the public.
