(Metro Rail News): On 28 January 2025, Indian Railways awarded €144 million (approx. INR 1285 cr) contract to Alstom to supply Mitrac traction components and other electrical equipment for Vande Bharat Sleeper train sets.
Scope of Work
The scope of work under this contract includes the supply of Mitrac traction components and other electrical equipment for 17 Vande Bharat Sleeper train sets.
In addition, Alstom is responsible for providing corrective maintenance of the traction and electric equipment. Furthermore Alstom will also provide support services, for a duration of 5 years.
Contract Requirement
As per the contract, Alstom will supply the systems to the Indian Railways’ Integral Coach Factory (ICF) located in Chennai.
