PATNA (Metro Rail News): Patna Junction metro station has reached the diaphragm wall (D-wall) grabbing stage, with reinforcement cage binding for the 4th D-wall panel currently underway, as tweeted by Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC).
Diaphragm walls play a crucial role in underground metro construction. These reinforced-concrete structures support the surrounding soil, prevent water from entering the excavation area and maintain ground stability during deep excavation. They also form the outer boundary of the underground station, ensuring safe and stable construction.
To pace up the progress on-site, traffic diversions and change in mobility routes have been implemented in phases around Station Road and Dak Bungalow to minimise disruption in the busy spots.
