CHENNAI (Metro Rail News): Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited (CMAML), a Joint Venture of Chennai Metro Rail Limited and TIDCO has signed a contract agreement for the DFR Consultancy for Development of High-Altitude Transport Systems (Ropeway) for Udhagamandalam Town.
Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited (CMAML) has been assigned with the task of preparing a Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR) for High-Altitude Cable Propelled (Ropeway) Transport Systems in Udhagamandalam.
This initiative is aimed at enhancing transit infrastructure in high-altitude regions while promoting sustainable mobility solutions in ecologically sensitive and tourism-centric destinations. The proposed systems are expected to provide safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly transport options, thereby boosting tourism and improving accessibility in these regions.
The Consultant will comprehensively assess technical feasibility, alignment options, and ridership potential, environmental and social impacts along with Udhagamandalam town traffic management improvement proposals. This study will form the basis for informed decision-making and future project implementation. The study duration is 120 days.
