JAIPUR (Metro Rail News): A crucial step was taken on November 21, 2022, when Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved financial support for Rs 993.51 crore for the construction of Jaipur Metro Phase 1-C.
CM Gahlot announced that Jaipur Metro will be extended in two phases in 2022–2023, from Mansarovar to the intersection of Ajmer Road and from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar (Phase 1C).
Currently, the metro connects Badi Chaupar in Jaipur with Mansarovar.
This 2.85 km (mile) section of the Jaipur Metro will link Badi Chaupar and Transport Nagar. There are 2.26 kilometres. 0.59 km of it will be elevated and 0.59 km underground.
The proposal states that after Phase 1-C of the Jaipur Metro is constructed, it will be possible for the metro to run from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar on the Delhi-Agra Highway, which will enhance the city’s traffic system. The general public will also have access to metro service up until the Delhi-Agra highway.
It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister announced the construction of Phases 1C and 1D while expanding the Jaipur Metro in the budget for the fiscal year 2022–2023. Financial sanction in the amount of Rs 204.81 crore was granted in October 2022 for the construction of Jaipur Metro Phase 1-D. In Jaipur, the metro is currently run from Manasarovar to Badi Chaupar.
