PUNE, INDIA (Metro Rail News): In Pune, the metro rail services are likely to open in two stretches in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad by the end of January. Mayor, Murlidhar Mohol held a meeting with the officials of Pune Metro Rail and then proclaimed that metro services are expected to start from the third week of January 2022.
He also stated the 5 Km stretch between Vanaz to Garware College is a part of the elevated metro route from Vanaz to Ramwadi, and that’s why it will get opened by the end of January.
Janak Garg, Commissioner of the Metro Railway Safety, inspected the priority section of the metro route from PCMC to Phugewadi on the PCMC to Swargate route. Moreover, the inspections are crucial before opening the metros for Commercial Passengers Operators.
Hemant Sonawane, Head of Public Relations of Pune Metro Rail, said that it’s the responsibility of the CMRS to check the passenger safety and technical and commercial aspect of the metro operations.
According to Mohol, Union Government has recently approved 1,430 crore funds which will fasten the pace of construction of the Metro Route from Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar.
