NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) opened the financial bids on Monday for the work “Project Management Consultancy Services for Construction of Civil Works Packages for Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project”. Tata Consulting Engineers – Consulting Engineers Group – Aarvee Associates – PADECO Co. JV emerged as the lowest bidder and wins the contract for this work.
As per NHSRCL, “This includes supervision of all 13 civil works packages including Viaducts, Concrete/Steel bridges, Tunnels (Undersea & Mountain tunnels), Civil work of all 12 stations, Maintenance depots, and Training Institute building”.
Consortium led by Tata Consulting Engineers has quoted the lowest bid for an amount of INR 1111 Crores and the tenure of the contract is 96 months.
Earlier, two Consortia led by Nippon Koei and Tata Consulting Engineers have been shortlisted by NHSRCL for providing Project Management Consultancy Services for civil works on Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project.
Tenders were invited for this contract in November 2020 and as per the tender document, Consultant will be selected under Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS). In December 2020, when technical bids were opened, three firms submitted the bids and based on QCBS, NHRCL shortlisted two firms. They were –
- Nippon Koei – Oriental Consultants Global Co. – RITES JV
- Tata Consulting Engineers – Consulting Engineers Group – Aarvee Associates – PADECO Co. JV
The third firm which does not qualify the technical round is Engineers India – RODIC Consultants – STUP Consultants – LEA Associates South Asia JV.
Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project is India’s first high-speed rail line connecting Mumbai with Ahmedabad with route length of 508 km. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 but has been delayed due to land acquisition issues with now expected to become fully operational by 2027.
