A metro serves travel within a city at up to 80–100 km/h with closely spaced stations. RRTS (Regional Rapid Transit System, branded Namo Bharat) is a 160 km/h semi-high-speed regional network built by NCRTC to connect cities 100–200 km apart with fewer stops.

Which RRTS corridor is operational?

The 82.15 km Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut Namo Bharat corridor is fully operational since 22 February 2026, with 25 stations including the integrated Meerut Metro. It is India's first RRTS corridor.

Which RRTS corridors are planned next?

The Delhi–Gurugram–SNB–Alwar corridor (199 km) and Delhi–Sonipat–Panipat corridor (103 km) are approved under Phase 1, and a Ghaziabad–Noida International Airport (Jewar) link of about 72 km is proposed.
