Why it matters

The Yellow Line is the first metro link to Electronic City, one of Bengaluru's largest IT employment hubs, and runs along Hosur Road through Central Silk Board junction, long one of the city's worst traffic bottlenecks. It connects with the Green Line at RV Road, and will link with the Pink Line at Jayadeva Hospital and the Blue Line at Central Silk Board. Its opening took the Namma Metro network to 96.1 km. Ridership has grown from about 25,000 a day projected at launch to over one lakh.
