KOLKATA (Metro Rail News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates six metro lines and a 17 km RRTS stretch from Kolkata today. 

6 Metro Lines 

The six metro Lins inaugurated today are: 

  1. Howrah Maidan-Esplanade Stretch (Kolkata Metro) 
Howrah Maidan to esplanade
  1. Kavi Subhash-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay (Kolkata Metro) 
  1. Taratala-Majerhat (Kolkata Metro) 
  1. Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi (Pune metro) 
  1. SN Junction to Tripunithura (Kochi Metro)
  1. Taj East Gate to Mankameshwar (Agra Metro)

RRTS Stretch 

PM Modi has also inaugurated the 17km Duhai to Modinagar stretch of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor.  NCRTC has already announced that work on the Meerut (south) station is still pending, potentially delaying its inclusion in the upcoming section slated for opening. The NCRTC plans to concentrate on a 17km stretch, excluding the Meerut (south) station.
