According to the MoU, DMRC’s metro data will be incorporated into the Mappls platform to improve commuter convenience across Delhi-NCR. With this integration, more than 35 million Mappls app users will be able to access detailed information such as nearby metro stations, routes, fares, line interchanges, train frequencies, and travel times directly through the Mappls App.

On this occasion, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, said, “Delhi Metro is committed to enhancing commuter convenience through innovation and technology. The integration of DMRC’s metro data with the Mappls app will make travel across NCR smarter and seamless — enabling commuters to plan better, navigate easily, and save time. This collaboration marks another step toward building a smarter, safer, and more connected public transport ecosystem.

Mr. Rakesh Verma, Co-Founder, Managing Director, and Group Chairman, MapmyIndia, mentioned: “Soon the DMRC data will get integrated into the multi-modal transport feature of the Mappls app, making travel across the Delhi NCR faster, smarter and seamless. The signing of the MoU with DMRC comes at the heels of the recent announcement by the Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Electronics & IT, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw regarding an MoU between Indian Railways and Mappls MapmyIndia. This is a strong step towards the signing of the MoU with the Indian Railways as envisaged/tweeted by Shri Ashwini Vaishnav. We are proud to be recognized as India’s premier location tech provider by some of highest echelons in the Indian Government. We promise to deliver more of Swadeshi tech that is world class and work towards the realization of an Aatmanirbhar Viksit Bharat. “

The initiative aims to make travel information more open, accessible, and useful for the public through the Mappls App’s Traffic and Public Engagement Platform. With this integration, the Mappls App will not only help users navigate the metro system but also allow them to find nearby government services, get suggested routes with estimated travel times, and report real-time issues such as traffic jams, accidents, parking problems, or waterlogging. This feature will help citizens share information directly from their smartphones, improving the overall travel and commuting experience in Delhi-NCR.

DELHI (Metro Rail News): Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a contract from the North Eastern Railway for the construction of a bridge substructure between Paniyahwa and Valmikinagar stations. The bridge will cross the river Gandak and is a component of the ongoing doubling works on the Gorakhpur Cantt–Valmikinagar section. This section is a 95.95 km-long railway line that connects Gorakhpur Cantt in Uttar Pradesh with Valmikinagar Road in Bihar, and is part of the North Eastern Railway (NER) zone of Indian Railways.

The work involves building a substructure with a double ‘D’-type well foundation capable of supporting a double railway line. The design will adhere to the RDSO’s 25-tonne axle load specifications, which are standard for heavy-duty railway operations.

The project carries a contract value of ₹165 crore and is planned to be completed within 24 months.

This assignment adds to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited’s (RVNL) ongoing expansion in the railway infrastructure domain, where the company has been actively winning new projects across multiple zones.

Recently, RVNL emerged as the lowest bidder for a ₹144 crore contract involving the upgradation of overhead electrification systems on the Ramgundam–Kazipet section under South Central Railway.

Earlier in October, it also received a ₹40 crore contract from Western Railway for the upkeep and repair of signalling and telecommunication systems in the Ahmedabad Division.

DMRC Partners with DPA and BEML to Develop Cargo Evacuation System (e-FTS)

0
DMRC

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has expanded its consultancy portfolio by entering the port infrastructure sector. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between DMRC, the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Umeandus Technology Private Limited, and BEML Limited for the joint development of a Real-Time Automated Cargo Evacuation System (e-FTS) at the Deendayal Port in Kandla, Gujarat.

The proposed system will be designed to automate the movement and monitoring of cargo within the port area, improving handling efficiency and reducing manual intervention.

As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the Real-Time Automated Cargo Evacuation System (e-FTS) will initially be developed as a pilot project. During the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) phase, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is proposed to manage the operation and maintenance activities for a period of 25 years.

The Real-Time Automated Cargo Evacuation System (e-FTS) is an integrated freight movement and logistics management platform developed to improve cargo handling at ports. It relies on a combination of digital technologies such as blockchain for secure data exchange, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning for process optimization, and the Internet of Things (IoT) for continuous equipment and cargo tracking.

The introduction of e-FTS is intended to replace several manual and paper-based procedures currently used in port operations. It is designed to shorten cargo dwell time, reduce human error, and improve the overall utilisation of port infrastructure.

DMRC MD Reviews Pollution Control Measures at Delhi Metro Phase-IV Construction Sites

0
Delhi Metro MD

DELHI (Metro Rail News): Dr Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), conducted an inspection of the under-construction section of the Krishna Park Extension–R.K. Ashram Marg Corridor under Phase IV to assess the implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

1761732698727

The inspection covered key construction sites at Ashok Vihar and Derawal Nagar, where Dr. Kumar reviewed ongoing site activities and the measures adopted to mitigate dust and emissions in response to the increasing pollution levels in the National Capital Region. Dr. Kumar directed the officials to ensure strict adherence to all environmental and safety guidelines prescribed by the authorities at the construction sites.

Since the commencement of construction activities, DMRC has implemented a series of measures to minimise the environmental impact of its operations and prevent additional contribution to the existing pollution levels in the National Capital Region. These measures include regular water sprinkling to control dust emissions, wheel washing of vehicles before they exit construction zones to prevent mud and debris from spreading onto public roads, proper covering and storage of construction materials, and the systematic disposal and recycling of construction and demolition waste in accordance with regulatory norms.

DMRC has equipped its construction sites with anti-smog guns to reduce dust and suspended particulate matter generated during construction activities. DMRC was among the other in the National Capital Region to introduce this technology, well before it became a mandatory requirement. At present, nearly 82 anti-smog units are operational across different sites.

DMRC has strengthened oversight at its construction sites by increasing the number of inspections carried out by Environment Department officials. These inspections are to verify adherence to environmental protocols and ensure that all pollution-control measures are effectively implemented across project locations.
