New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has flagged-off the Delhi-Faridabad Metro Line that would allow hassle free travel for around two lakh daily commuters between the national capital and the industrial hub in Haryana.
The extension of the Delhi Metro connects Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar in Faridabad.
The total cost of the project from Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar is nearly Rs. 2,500 crore. Out of this, Rs. 1,557 crore was borne by the Haryana Government, the Centre contributed Rs. 537 crore, while the Delhi Metro provided Rs. 400 crore.
All these are elevated and located on either side of the Delhi-Mathura Road (NH-2).
“The nine-station metro corridor which was 95 per cent indigenously built will provide people a safe, affordable, quick, comfortable, reliable, environment-friendly and sustainable transport facility,” a Haryana government spokesperson said.
Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar, addressing a press conference on Saturday, had thanked the Prime Minister for “gifting” the Metro service which would take the city to “another level of progress” with better connectivity with other NCR towns.
He had also said that the Prime Minister would be announcing the go-ahead for connecting Gurgaon with Faridabad by Metro.
MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): The Maharashtra Cabinet Infrastructure Committee has approved a 35 km Metro Corridor to seamlessly connect the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai international airport at an estimated cost of ₹22,862 crore.
This new corridor will span 35 km between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai international airport covering 20 stations. Out of 20 stations, 6 stations have been planned as underground while the remaining 14 stations will be elevated.
Of the total length, 9.25 km will run underground from Mumbai Airport Terminal 2 to Ghatkopar East, while the remaining 24.63 km will be elevated from Ghatkopar West to Navi Mumbai Airport Terminal 2.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has instructed that land acquisition and all necessary approvals for the Metro project must be finalized within six months, with construction to be completed within three years following approvals.

MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): ABB has secured a major order from Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. to supply advanced propulsion system and Train Control and Management System (TCMS) software for the Mumbai Metro Line 5 (Orange Line) and Line 6 (Pink Line).
The Line 5 of Mumbai Metro spans 24.90 km from Thane to Bhiwandi to Kalyan through 15 stations while the Line 6 of Mumbai Metro spans 15.31 km, connecting Swami Samarth Nagar and Vikhroli(EEH) through 13 stations.
The scope of supply covers 18 six-car trainsets for Line 6 and 22 six-car trainsets for Line 5, providing a complete, integrated traction and control solution. ABB’s delivery includes traction converters, auxiliary converters, traction motors, and TCMS software, ensuring high reliability, energy efficiency, and optimized lifecycle performance for one of India’s most significant urban mobility projects.
ABB stated that the Manufacturing will be executed across ABB’s Indian footprint, with converters produced at Bengaluru and motors manufactured at Vadodara, supported by local engineering, testing, and service teams.

Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited (CMAML) has been assigned with the task of preparing a Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR) for High-Altitude Cable Propelled (Ropeway) Transport Systems in Udhagamandalam.
This initiative is aimed at enhancing transit infrastructure in high-altitude regions while promoting sustainable mobility solutions in ecologically sensitive and tourism-centric destinations. The proposed systems are expected to provide safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly transport options, thereby boosting tourism and improving accessibility in these regions.
The Consultant will comprehensively assess technical feasibility, alignment options, and ridership potential, environmental and social impacts along with Udhagamandalam town traffic management improvement proposals. This study will form the basis for informed decision-making and future project implementation. The study duration is 120 days.

NHSRCL invited bids for this contract with a 2520 Days deadline. Technical bids were opened on 14 Nov 2025 announcing that 2 firms have submitted bids for the contract. Technical evaluation of the submitted bids occurred on 8 Jan 2026. After the technical evaluation round financial bids were opened for the contract and financial evaluation of the submitted bids took place on 22 Jan 2026. After the financial evaluation round SYSTRA was declared as the lowest bidder for the contract.

MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): Larsen & Toubro Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for the Package CA-298 which is a electrification contract of Mumbai Metro Line 4 & Line 4A which spans 35.2 km connecting Wadala- Kasarvadavali – Gaimukh.
MMRDA invited bids for this contract with a 2556 Days deadline. Technical bids were opened on 24 Oct 2025 revealing that 3 firms have submitted bids for the contract. The technical evaluation of the submitted bids took place on 14 Nov 2025. During the technical evaluation round one firm’s bid was rejected. Financial bids were opened on the same day and financial evaluation of the bids occurred on 21 Jan 2026. After that MMRDA announced Larsen & Toubro as the lowest bidder for the contract and the firm received LoA for the same.
