New Delhi: Despite the larger belief being that the main focus of the Union Budget 2018-19 was on the agricultural economy, the infrastructure sector remained the single largest target area for Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who termed it the “growth driver of economy” while announcing an “all-time high allocation to rail and road sectors”. Here are the highlights of the Union Budget 2018 in view of railway projects in India:-

Project Overview- സാമ്പത്തിക വർഷത്തിൽ റെയിൽവേ മൂലധനച്ചെലവായി ₹1.48 ലക്ഷം കോടി രൂപ വകയിരുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദേശീയ ട്രാൻസ്പോർട്ടറിന്റെ മുൻഗണനയായതിനാൽ ഈ പണത്തിന്റെ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും ശേഷി വിപുലീകരണത്തിനായി ചെലവഴിക്കും.
- ഏകദേശം 1 കിലോമീറ്റർ റെയിൽവേ ലൈനുകൾ ഇരട്ടിയാക്കുകയും ശേഷി പരിമിതികൾ ഇല്ലാതാക്കുന്നതിനായി ഗേജ് പരിവർത്തനം നടക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
- വരുന്ന വർഷം റെയിൽവേ ട്രാക്ക് നവീകരണം ലക്ഷ്യമിടുമ്പോൾ ബ്രോഡ് ഗേജ് റൂട്ടുകളിലെ ആളില്ലാ റെയിൽവേ ക്രോസിംഗുകൾ അടുത്ത രണ്ട് വർഷത്തിനുള്ളിൽ ഇല്ലാതാക്കും.
- അതിവേഗ റെയിൽ ശൃംഖലയ്ക്കായി മനുഷ്യശക്തിയെ പരിശീലിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായി വഡോദരയിൽ ഒരു പുതിയ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് സ്ഥാപിക്കും.
- എല്ലാ റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനുകളിലും എസ്കലേറ്ററുകൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കണം, അതേസമയം എല്ലാ ട്രെയിനുകളിലും വൈഫൈ, സിസിടിവി, മറ്റ് അത്യാധുനിക സൌകര്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ക്രമാനുഗതമായി നൽകണം.
- 600 റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനുകൾ പുനർനിർമ്മിക്കും.
