MANIPUR (Metro Rail News): Ministry of Railways has shared the Progress Report of Jiribam-Imphal, Manipur Project on its Twitter handle.
The capital of Manipur is expected to be connected by rail and thereby reducing the travel time between Jiribam and Imphal to two-and-a-half hours from the current 12 hours drive.
The Jiribam-Imphal new broad gauge railway line (111 km) project with an estimated cost of Rs 12,264.15 crore is set to be completed by December 2023.
89.20% of work completed of Jiribam- Imphal Project. 48 Tunnels out of 52 completed, 11 major Bridges are also completed, the substructure of 7 and superstructure of 5 of project are completed, and 6 Stations were constructed out of 11 stations.
