PUNE (Metro Rail News): The Metro Rail Safety Commissioner, Shri Janak Kumar Garg, examined the Metro at the Vanaz depot. The braking system, traction, signal, air conditioner, telecommunication and passenger notification system were all thoroughly examined. A certificate from the Metro Rail Safety Commissioner is required. After receiving clearance from the RDSO and the Ministry of Railways, inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety is the last step.

The Pimpri metro station was supposed to open in December, but it was delayed. Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro) has yet to confirm both routes’ launch dates. However, the job is virtually finished, and just the finishing touches are being applied. The clearance certificate will be sent once the inspection is done, stated Maha-Metro PRO Hemant Sonawane.

Hemant Sonawane stated, “By December 2022, the work on all stations is expected to be completed in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.” The Pune Metro has 30 stations spread out over two corridors with a total length of 33.1 kilometres. From Shivajinagar to Swargate, the 17.4 km line-1 from PCMC to Swargate features a six-kilometre underground stretch. Line-2 is elevated for 15.4 kilometres from Vanaz to Ramwadi.
