Bengaluru Metro Pink Line

Under Construction Operator: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) Length: 21.25 km Updated: Official site ↗

As of 16 Oct 2026, Bengaluru Metro Pink Line is under construction. Latest news: 16 Oct 2026.

The Pink Line is a 21.25 km line of Bengaluru's Namma Metro, run by BMRCL, from Kalena Agrahara on Bannerghatta Road to Nagawara, with 18 stations. Its 7.5 km elevated section from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere (six stations) completed its CMRS inspection on 6 to 8 October 2026 and awaits safety authorisation as of mid-October 2026. The 13.76 km underground section is under construction.

Why it matters

Bannerghatta Road is one of Bengaluru's most congested corridors and has had no metro service. The elevated section will serve Hulimavu, IIM Bangalore, JP Nagar and Jayadeva Hospital, where riders can change to the Yellow Line. Once the underground section opens, the line will run through the city centre at MG Road and Shivajinagar, reach Cantonment railway station and continue to Nagawara. The first section alone will take the operational Namma Metro network from 96.1 km to about 103.6 km.
