BENGALURU (Metro Rail News): The 13th train for Bengaluru metro Yellow Line was delivered to Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on 15th June 2026. Before the official passenger services start, the train must complete 750 km of dynamic testing on the main line tracks, a process that can only be carried out during nighttime hours, and the coaches will also be arranged in a trainset and will be moved to the Inspection Bay Line (IBL) for static testing.

As of now, 10 trains on the yellow line are operational on the 19.75 km stretch, catering to a peak hour frequency of 7 minutes. Once all 15 trains are in service, the peak hour frewuency of the train service is expected to reduce to 4 to 5 minutes.

Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd (TRSL) near Kolkata is manufacturing the 14th and 15th trains, which are expected to be delivered to BMRCL by early July. All 15 trains will be operational by 11th August (Yellow Line’s first anniversary). Two trains will be kept as a reserve stock in case of emergencies and operational issues. After supplying these 15 trains for the yellow line, TSRL will prioritize the delivery of 18 trains for Purple and Green lines of the Bengaluru metro.
